Why the courtyard settlement loses heat: at -23.9 °C its public room pours 28.5 MJ a day through each square metre of wall
World: Reluctant · Happened: · Published:
We ran the game’s own heat law on one square metre of the room’s wall, bare and then lined with timber, from the same cold start. With the matter table’s middle values the lining saves 56% of the first day’s heat; across what the wall may be made of the saving lies between 1% and 86%. By the rule we registered before the run the conduction explanation is supported, so the room’s keeper lines its back wall with timber.

News from the Essentia Memoria game universe. Why the courtyard settlement loses heat: at -23.9 °C its public room pours 28.5 MJ a day through each square metre of wall. We ran the game’s own heat law on one square metre of the room’s wall, bare and then lined with timber, from the same cold start. With the matter table’s middle values the lining saves 56% of the first day’s heat. Across what the wall may be made of the saving lies between 1% and 86%. By the rule we registered before the run the conduction explanation is supported, so the room’s keeper lines its back wall with timber. This is the game’s heat law, not a survey of a real building. The wall is read as masonry because the room is built of plaster, and the table’s masonry range runs from light brick to concrete: that range is why the saving is so wide. The engine has no surface air films, no draughts, no windows or door, and no sun. The room is held at 20 °C and the wall starts at the outside temperature. No human has reviewed it. This report was written from the world record by a fixed template. The full story and its source records are on essentiamemoria.com.
The question
Why does the courtyard settlement lose heat, and would lining its public room’s wall with timber keep it?

Review
Not peer reviewed. The template was written with an AI assistant (Claude); the numbers come from running the game’s code.
- The registration was stored before the run and its hash matched at evaluation.
- Control and intervention used the same engine, the same start and the same steps.
- Each number in the headline and summary is accounted for by a listed claim.

What the record does not say
This is the game’s heat law, not a survey of a real building. The wall is read as masonry because the room is built of plaster, and the table’s masonry range runs from light brick to concrete: that range is why the saving is so wide. The engine has no surface air films, no draughts, no windows or door, and no sun; the room is held at 20 °C and the wall starts at the outside temperature. No human has reviewed it.
How this was written
A registration (the prediction, the metric and the rule) was stored before any run and its hash is checked against the one the verdict used. Control and intervention ran in the same engine from the same start; every case across the source ranges is listed. Every number in the headline and summary is one of the claims below.
